The Jersey Boys
Jersey Boys is a documentary type of musical that portrays the lives of the members of 1960s rock and roll band Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons; how they were formed as a band, how they came to fame and how they eventually broke up. This group is composed of four blue-collar boys who worked hard writing their own songs and making their own music to become one of America’s biggest pop groups in the 1960s era, selling over 175 million records around the globe. They gave the world some of the biggest hits like “Big Girls Don’t Cry”, “Walk Like A Man”, and “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You.”
The musical officially premiered in Broadway in 2005 and immediately became a hit. In 2006, it received four Tony Awards which included the Best Musical citation. Since then there have been productions in other countries including London’s West End and a touring group was likewise formed. The Jersey Boys National Tour also became a great sensation that it has received citations from the Tony Awards, the Grammy Awards and the Olivier Awards.
Jersey Boys shows on Broadway for eight performances a week at the August Wilson Theatre. The National Tour is performing in various parts of the country during calendar years 2014 and 2015.
