Bob Dylan, whose real name is Robert Allen Zimmerman was born in 1941 in the state of Minnesota.  He is a singer, songwriter, author, disc jockey and poet.  Dylan has been a well known figure in the pop music culture for five decades.

His best loved songs are from the era of political unrest in the 1960's.  Songs like Blowin in the Wind and The Times They Are a-Changin ended up becoming anthems of the civil rights movement and the anti-war movement.  His latest album is named Modern Times and it has the distinction of being named Album of the Year by Rolling Stone Magazine.
